BOO! Spooky Halloween Happenings in Nanaimo

H A L L O W E E N is just a few days away now. Are you ready? If not, Tourism Nanaimo has you covered for the spookiest and scariest spots to hit up this week. But don’t say we didn’t warn you……muah ha ha ha…

EVENTS ALL WEEK LONG (COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN)

10:00am – 9:00pm: McNab’s Corn Maze and hayrides and pumpkin patch, $8/adult $5/child. Get your pumpkin before the big day! *NEW this year is the Haunted House “Huards Haunted House” ~ 6pm-10pm, entry is by donation.

7:00pm – 11:00pm: Island Haunt Productions presents their Haunted House “The Facility”, at the VIEX Fairgrounds, $10, younger children not recommended to attend.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 28TH

6:30pm – 7:15pm: Nanaimo Museum’s Brother XII Tours, Nanaimo Museum, $10, must pre-register. Aimee does a fantastic job and this tour will likely sell-out so register ASAP!

THURSDAY OCTOBER 29th

6:00pm – 7:30pm: Kids and Family Halloween Party, 4 Cats Art Studio. FREE.  Celebrate at the annual Halloween bash for fun, art activities and prizes.

7:30pm – 8:30pm: Halloween Splatter Workshop, 4 Cats Art Studio.  $25.  Have a spooktacular time splatter painting with your bestie in our UV glow-in-the-dark splatter room. For ages 16+.


FRIDAY OCTOBER 30th

4:00 – 7:00pm: Halloween Howl Pool Party, Beban Park Pool, $3.75/child- $7/adult. The pool will be transformed into a spooky setting with coloured water, a haunted slide tower and snakes in the lazy river!

6:30 – 8:00pm: Nanaimo Museum’s Lantern Tours, Nanaimo Museum, $15, registration is required. Perfect way to get out and explore Nanaimo’s haunted past. Books up fast so register ASAP!

6:30 – 9:00pm: Spooks ‘n Spokes Halloween Bike Ride, meet at The Vault Café, suggested donation $5 (bike, helmet and bike lights are required)

SATURDAY OCTOBER 31st  – HOLY JACK-O-LANTERNS, IT’S FINALLY HALLOWEEN!

11:00am – 3:00pm: Downtown Halloween Howl, via the Downtown Nanaimo Business Improvement Association. This event is FREE! Come downtown to see an expert pumpkin carver, Halloween makeovers, take the kids trick or treating, go in a haunted house, do crafts, read stories and gobble treats.This event is for monsters of all ages! Enjoy Halloween in a safe and fun environment. Rain or shine.

1:15pm – 2:45pm: Spooktacular Glow in the Dark Skate, Frank Crane Arena, $3.75/child- $7/adult plus skate rentals. Features best costume prizes, treats, scary music and hot chocolate.

3:00 – 3:45pm: Magic and Illusionist Show, Woodgrove Centre, FREE
